Security: The HIS has a tight users permissions system that allows administrators to assign rights and access to different modules of the software for both users and workstations. For example, the accountant can only log into a workstation that is authorized to run the accounting module. In case an unauthorized person gains access to the accountant username/password, they still must log in at the accountant workstation and cannot go elsewhere in the premises and log in to another workstation.
Data Integrity: The HIS tracks most changes made to its database, and keeps time stamp, workstation, user, and old values / new values to a fields level of its database. Furthermore, the HIS can instantly show changes made to its records with a click of a mouse: You'll see the date and time a change made, the workstation where the change was made, the Windows user that was logged in at the time, the HIS user that was logged in to the HIS, the old values, and the new values. This is almost as safe as papers. The Data Integrity system also allow to recover from almost any disaster that may occurs, and restore records from almost any point of time.
